(I have to include this, because this is just a very interesting topic.)So the other day, me and a friend of my were talking about how awesome the graphics were from the screen shots and trailer movie of Resistance: Fall of Man.
And then, it hit my friend:
"Do you think that the graphics will become so good, that instead of pixels, we'll have digital atoms?"
This, was one of those questions that I couldn't simply answer while standing.
So I simply told him: "I'll get back to you on that."
After doing some pretty immense researching, I've discovered that the gaming companies' objective is to mimic the real thing, meaning that they try to be as least realistic, and most realistic as possible at the same time. This may be confusing, even for me, but the thing is that they don't want to have realistic games, but make them look realistic by upgrading the graphics. The thing is that there are some moral issues here; If you make the game completely realistic, chances are that kids will start bashing each other to kingdom come, just because the violent games look like movies cast by actors. However, by making them too unrealistic, people will find the games uninteresting.
So referring to the question, the best answer that I can come up with is:
"Probably not, because people could go a little crazy with moral and ethical issues. Though they can be developed for surgeons to practice. A simulator if you will."
Head pounding? Good, so I'm not the only one. See you next time.
